New Signings · 9 September 2026 · By Sebastian Hendrix

Real Bedford Women are delighted to announce the signing of goalkeeper Maddison Millington-Stanbury, who has already featured for the Pirates in matches against Fulham, Northampton Town and London Bees.

The 20-year-old arrives with experience at club and international youth level, having spent three years at Arsenal before a season with Oxford United.

Maddison began her footballing journey as a striker before switching to goal aged eight. She developed through Southampton’s academy before joining Arsenal in 2022, later earning a call-up to England Under-17s.

During her time with the Gunners, she celebrated a number of honours, including the Capital Cup, PGA Academy League and Under-19s FIFA Youth Cup. Loan spells with Southampton Women and Watford also gave her valuable experience in senior football.

She joined Oxford United in July 2025 and made an appearance against Chelsea in the Women’s National League Cup during her season with the club. Following pre-season spells with Bournemouth and London Bees, she now adds to Real Bedford’s goalkeeping ranks.

Bill Said:

"Maddison is a goalkeeper with a huge amount of potential, and she’s already shown us exactly why we were so keen to bring her in. She’s made fantastic progress in a short space of time and has settled into the group really well, building some excellent relationships with the squad and particularly within the goalkeeping union.

She’s eager to learn, has a great attitude, and we’re really excited to see how she continues to develop with us. There’s a lot more to come from Maddison, and we’re delighted to have her on board.”

Maddison said:

“I’m excited to have joined Real Bedford and be part of such an ambitious team. I’m looking forward to contributing to the goals the club wants to achieve. Up The Pirates!”

Welcome to the Pirates, Maddison.
