Non-Discrimination Policy

Policy Statement
Real Bedford FC is committed to promoting equality by treating people fairly and with respect; by recognising and valuing the diversity and individual differences that people bring to the club. We oppose all forms of unlawful and unfair discrimination as stipulated in the UK Equality Act 2010, including those on the grounds of age, disability, gender reassignment, marriage and civil partnership, pregnancy and maternity, race, religion or belief, sex, and sexual orientation. In this regard, Real Bedford FC fully supports The FA Equality Policy and any relevant legislation.

  1. Scope of the Policy
This policy applies to all members, players, coaches, staff, volunteers, officials, and spectators of the Real Bedford FC.

  2. Non-Discrimination in Membership and Participation
Real Bedford FC guarantees that everyone is treated fairly and with respect. All individuals, regardless of their characteristics, are given equal opportunities to participate in our activities, teams, and competitions based on their skills, abilities, and performance.

  3. Non-Discrimination in Employment and Volunteer Activities
Real Bedford is committed to equal opportunities in employment and volunteer roles. We undertake not to discriminate in any aspect of employment, including recruitment, selection, hiring, training, assignments, promotion, compensation, benefits, and termination.

  4. Harassment-Free Environment
Real Bedford FC is dedicated to maintaining a respectful and harassment-free environment. All forms of harassment, bullying, or intimidation, whether based on race, sex, religion, national origin, disability, age, or any other characteristic, are strictly prohibited and will not be tolerated.

  5. Policy Enforcement
We have a zero-tolerance approach towards discrimination or harassment. Any person found to have breached this policy will face appropriate action, which may include suspension or termination of membership or employment, and where appropriate, the matter may be reported to The FA or the appropriate law enforcement agencies.

  6. Reporting Procedure
Any individual who believes they have been discriminated against, or anyone who witnesses such behaviour, should report it immediately to Real Bedford FC or any other appropriate person within the club. All reports will be handled confidentially and promptly.

  7. Retaliation Prohibition
Real Bedford FC strictly prohibits retaliation against anyone who reports discrimination or harassment or who participates in an investigation. Acts of retaliation will be treated with the same level of severity as acts of discrimination or harassment themselves.

This policy reflects the spirit of The FA Equality Policy, The UK Equality Act 2010, and Real Bedford FC's own commitment to promoting an inclusive environment. The policy will be reviewed and updated periodically to ensure its relevance and effectiveness.
