Safeguarding Policy

Policy Statement
Real Bedford FC is committed to creating and maintaining the safest possible environment for children and young people to participate in football. We do this by recognising that all children and young people have the right to freedom from abuse and by taking responsibility to promote the welfare of children and protect them from harm. The policy adheres to The Football Association's Regulations for Safeguarding Children.

  1. Scope of the Policy
    This policy applies to everyone involved in Real Bedford FC including players, parents/carers, coaches, volunteers, staff, club officials, and spectators.

  2. Responsibilities
    Real Bedford FC understands that safeguarding children is everyone's responsibility. We will ensure that all individuals who work in football at, or for, our club, are aware of their responsibilities to safeguard children and adults at risk.

  3. Awareness and Training
    Real Bedford FC will ensure all staff, volunteers, and coaches have access to appropriate safeguarding children training which is provided by The FA or an FA approved source. All coaches, staff, and volunteers are required to attend such training.

  4. Good Practice Guidelines
    Real Bedford FC will adopt and follow The FA’s recommended Good Practice Guidelines and Codes of Conduct.

  5. Reporting Procedures
    All suspicions or allegations of abuse, poor practice, or harm will be taken seriously and responded to swiftly and appropriately. All complaints will be dealt with in accordance with our Child Protection procedures.

  6. Designated Safeguarding Officer
    Real Bedford FC has a designated Safeguarding Officer (DSO) who is responsible for dealing with any concerns about the protection of children.

  7. Use of Photography and Filming
    The FA’s guidelines on the use of images of children and young people will be strictly adhered to by the Real Bedford FC.

This policy is fully endorsed by Real Bedford FC and will be continuously monitored and reviewed in line with our commitment to the ongoing safety and protection of children.
