Real Bedford.

We are an ambitious football club based in Bedford, England, with men’s, women’s and youth teams competing across the English football pyramid. 

The club began life as Bedford FC in 2002, following the merger of Bedford United and US Valerio, and played for nearly two decades as a community-focused non-league club at McMullen Park.

In 2021, the club was purchased by our now chairman, Peter McCormack, with a clear long-term ambition: to build a sustainable football club capable of bringing League football to Bedford. The club was renamed Real Bedford in 2022 and entered a new period of rapid growth, winning three consecutive league titles between 2023 and 2025. The club nearly made it a 4th promotion in a row, losing narrowly to Spalding United in the 25/26 playoff final.

Real Bedford has expanded into a unified club for men, women, boys and girls. Following its partnership with Bedford Ladies and Girls in 2023, the club took control of their women's side, winning back to back promotions, taking them to the third tier of the women's pyramid. 

In 2024, Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss became co-owners, supporting the club’s continued development on and off the pitch. 

Known as The Pirates and represented by the skull and crossbones, Real Bedford combines deep local roots with a growing global following - and remains focused on creating something Bedford can be proud of.
