Callum Kane Joins the Pirates
Real Bedford are delighted to announce the signing of defender Callum Kane from Hitchin Town.
Kane arrives following a successful 2025/26 campaign with the Canaries, making 53 appearances and scoring six goals across all competitions. His tally included 39 league appearances and three league goals, as he became a regular in the side that secured promotion back to the Southern League Premier Central through the play-offs.
A product of Hitchin’s academy, Callum first featured for the senior side during the 2022/23 season before gaining further experience with Shefford Town & Campton, Baldock Town and Stotfold. He spent two seasons with Stotfold before returning to Hitchin in summer 2025.
During his time at Stotfold, Kane recorded 36 appearances and two goals in 2023/24, followed by 40 appearances in 2024/25. Those regular minutes provided a strong foundation for his return to Top Field and his contribution to Hitchin’s promotion-winning campaign.
Callum has continued to feature for Hitchin this season, with 10 appearances and one goal across league and cup competitions, including seven league appearances. He now joins Rob Sinclair’s squad, bringing experience of the Southern League and a determination to make his mark with the Pirates.
Rob Sinclair said:
"We’re delighted to bring Callum to Real Bedford from Hitchin. He’s a player we’ve been tracking for a while, and his character really stood out to us. He’s young, hungry and wants to progress, which fits exactly what we’re building here. We’re looking forward to helping him develop."
Callum said:
“I’m really looking forward to joining Real Bedford and getting started. I’ll give everything I can for the badge and can’t wait to meet the fans and show them what I can bring to the team.”
Welcome to the Pirates, Callum.
