Real Bedford Make It Five From Five With 2-0 Win at Halesowen Town
The Pirates made it five wins from five with an impressive 2-0 victory at The Grove, as CJ Kiala and Josh Allen found the net to continue Real Bedford’s perfect start.
In the early stages, an effort from the hosts went just over, while they also had a penalty appeal waved away. Following more pressure from Halesowen, they created another good chance which struck the post.
In the 19th minute, Real Bedford had their first real chance of the game. The ball fell to Allen on the edge of the box, but he couldn’t keep his shot down.
Moments later, Allen looked to break away before being brought down. Just before half-time, Stevens saw an effort blocked as the first half ended goalless.
Second half
Despite a difficult first half, the Pirates made a positive start to the second. Tee got into a good position before laying the ball off to Ponticelli, whose effort was dragged wide. Allen then beat his man in a foot race before attempting to square the ball, which was turned behind for a corner.
In the 58th minute, Rob Sinclair’s side managed to open the scoring. Ward played a perfect pass through to Kiala, who slotted past the keeper to put us ahead. Just minutes later, Josh Allen added the second. Allen capitalised on a mistake before producing a composed finish to double the lead.
In search of a goal, the hosts had a great chance but were unable to convert. Parker’s corner found Barnett at the back post, who headed the ball across goal before Cowley’s close-range effort was blocked on the line. Real Bedford were then unlucky not to find a third, as Kiala narrowly missed Tee’s cross before Conor Tee fired an effort just over the bar.
In the 76th minute, Rob Sinclair made his first change, with Archie Jones coming on to replace Josh Allen. The hosts continued to apply pressure, but King made an excellent save to prevent them from scoring.
Following two minutes of stoppage time, it ended 2-0 to Real Bedford. The result keeps the Pirates at the top of the table with five wins from five.
