Opposition Focus

Wimbledon began their league campaign with a narrow 1-0 defeat against AFC Bournemouth before responding emphatically with a 6-0 victory away at Plymouth Argyle.

The Pirates will have positive memories of last season’s meetings, having taken all six points against the Dons.

The first came on 17th August 2025, when Real Bedford marked their Southern Premier Division debut with a dramatic 2-1 away victory. Issy Bryant opened the scoring before Daisy McLachlan equalised for the Dons. With the match heading towards a draw, substitute Leyla O’Brien struck in the 93rd minute to secure the points and spark celebrations among the travelling supporters.

The return fixture at the Ledger Stadium on 7th December 2025 brought a 5-1 victory for the Pirates. Melis Mehmet scored on her debut, while Bryant led the way with a hat-trick. Chloe Logie added the fifth in stoppage time as Real Bedford completed the league double.

Those results offer encouragement, but Sunday presents a fresh challenge as the Pirates look to produce another strong performance on the road.
