Wilson, McLean and Newman Depart Real Bedford Women
Real Bedford Women can confirm that Emily Wilson, Amy McLean and Kerry Newman have left the club.
All three players joined the club in the summer of 2024 and made vital contributions to the team’s FAWNL Division One South East title victory.
Wilson played 24 times in all competitions, scoring one and assisting one. Her only goal for the Pirates came in our 5-1 victory against Moneyfields in the League Cup.
McLean was also an invaluable part of Charlie Bill’s squad, scoring seven goals and assisting six in 26 appearances. The talented striker scored the final goal in the Pirates’ 11-1 victory against London Seaward in April 2025, which sealed the league title on the final day.
Newman featured 18 times for Real Bedford Women, including during our 2-0 away win at Queens Park Rangers, where she was named the Player of the Match.

As all three players embark on a new chapter, everyone at Real Bedford wishes them every success both on and off the pitch.
Thank you, Emily, Amy and Kerry.
Once a Pirate, Always a Pirate.
