Tyler McGregor departs Real Bedford

Real Bedford can confirm that goalkeeper Tyler McGregor will depart from the club this summer, bringing an end to a remarkable journey with the Pirates.

Tyler joined the club in 2022 and departs having made 149 appearances in all competitions, playing a key role in Real Bedford’s rise through the non-league pyramid. Before joining the Pirates, McGregor developed as a goalkeeper at Milton Keynes College Football Academy, making his Real Bedford debut in a 7-1 victory over Buckingham Athletic in August 2022.

During his time at the club, Tyler lifted three league titles and became the first player in Real Bedford history to reach both 50 and 100 league appearances, milestones that reflect his importance and consistency over several successful seasons.

McGregor spent the 2025/26 campaign on loan at Hitchin Town FC, helping the club secure promotion through the play offs.

A dependable presence between the posts, Tyler was known for his reliability, composure and consistency throughout his time with the Pirates, leaving a lasting impact on the club.

Sinclair said: “Tyler has been here from the very start and has played a huge part in our three league winning seasons. His consistency and work ethic have been outstanding throughout his time at the club. I’d like to thank Tyler for all his efforts and wish him all the very best for the future.”

Tyler on his departure: “It’s been a hell of a journey, coming straight out of college into senior football and then going on a run of three promotions in three seasons, not many get better than that. It’s been incredibly enjoyable, and I’ve come a long way. A big thank you to everyone involved, whether it was from season one all the way through to now, for all the support they’ve shown.”

Everyone at Real Bedford would like to thank Tyler for his outstanding contribution to the club, congratulate him on everything he achieved during his time with the Pirates, and wish him every success in the next chapter of his career.
