Andi Thanoj Joins The Pirates

Real Bedford are delighted to announce the signing of experienced midfielder Andi Thanoj, who joins the club from Kettering Town.

Thanoj began his career in England with Grimsby Town, where he broke into senior football and also represented Albania at Under-21 level. He has since built a strong reputation across non-league football, enjoying spells with clubs including Boston United, Harrogate Town and Coalville Town.

During the 2024/25 campaign, he made 39 appearances for Kettering, scoring once and earning praise from supporters for the balance and control he brought to the side. He re-signed with the Poppies for the 2025/26 season, where he continued to deliver consistent performances across 29 appearances, including featuring in the play off semi-final defeat to his new team, Real Bedford.

Known for his technical quality, composure in possession and ability to dictate play from midfield, Thanoj brings a wealth of experience to the Pirates.

Sinclair said: “Andi is a fantastic character and someone who will add a lot to our group, both on and off the pitch. He’s a technical footballer who can control games, bring composure in possession and add real quality to our midfield. We’re delighted to bring him in and excited to get working with him.”

Andi on his arrival: “I’m very happy to be joining Real Bedford. Speaking with Rob and Peter, seeing the style of football they play, and the ambition of the club, it was a no brainer for me. Looking forward to a successful season.”

Welcome to the Pirates, Andi.
