Jordan Ponticelli is a Pirate
Real Bedford are delighted to announce the signing of experienced striker Jordan Ponticelli on a two-year deal, with the forward joining the club from Tamworth following a loan spell at Halesowen Town last season.
Ponticelli began his career in the academy at Coventry City, progressing through the ranks before making his first-team debut on 8th August 2017 against Blackburn Rovers in the Carabao Cup. He came on as a substitute in a 3-1 defeat for Coventry.
After emerging as a promising young talent in the Football League, he gained valuable experience through loan spells with Macclesfield Town and Tranmere Rovers before making the move to Wrexham. During his time in North Wales, Ponticelli made over 60 appearances and scored 11 goals, playing an important role during a significant period in the club’s history prior to its Hollywood takeover. He later moved to King’s Lynn Town.
Jordan joined Halesowen Town at the beginning of the 2024/25 season and enjoyed an impressive start, scoring 8 goals in 10 appearances. His form earned him a move to Tamworth in December 2024, where he went on to make 49 appearances. He later returned to Halesowen Town on loan during the 2025/26 campaign.
A proven goalscorer with experience across both the Football League and National League system, Ponticelli brings quality, composure, and attacking intelligence to Rob Sinclair’s front line as Real Bedford continue to strengthen ahead of the new season.
Sinclair said: “We’re delighted to bring Jordan into the club. He will bring real quality and hunger, which fits perfectly with what we’re building here. He’ll add another dimension to our attack, and we’re excited to work with Jordan and see the impact he can make this season.”
Jordan on his arrival: “Pirates, I’m over the moon to get the deal done and join the club. I can’t wait to get going, give everything for you guys over the next two years, and achieve what everyone involved with the club wants… promotions! See you all soon.”
Welcome to the Pirates, Jordan.
