Welcome Back Sam Collins

Real Bedford are delighted to announce the permanent signing of Sam Collins ahead of the 2026/27 season.

Collins joined the Pirates on loan from King’s Lynn Town in March and quickly became an important part of the squad, making eight appearances during the run-in, including the Southern League Premier Central Play Off Final against Spalding United.

The midfielder made his debut at home against Halesowen Town and immediately settled into the group, adapting seamlessly to Rob Sinclair’s style of play. His composure on the ball, defensive reliability, and understanding of the team’s approach made him a valuable addition during a crucial stage of the season.

Following a successful loan spell, Collins now makes the move to The Ledger Stadium on a permanent basis as the Pirates continue to build for the 2026/27 campaign.

Sinclair said: “We’re really pleased to secure Sam on a permanent deal. During his time with us last season, he showed exactly why we wanted to bring him back. He’s a player with real quality, a strong work ethic and a desire to improve.

He embraced our environment from the moment he arrived and became an important part of the group. We believe there’s still plenty more to come from Sam and we’re looking forward to seeing his continued development at the club.”

Collins on signing permanently: “I’m so happy to be back. I was only at the football club for a few weeks, and immediately fell in love. The project and playing style suit me down to the ground, and with a full pre-season under my belt, I believe I can contribute to a really successful season. I can’t wait to get going!”

Welcome (back) to the Pirates, Sam.
