Rubie Smith and Erica Meale Leave on Loan

Real Bedford Women can confirm that Rubie Smith and Erica Meale have joined Stevenage and Haringey Borough, respectively, on loan.

Both players joined the club in the summer and featured in the squad for the first few games of the 2025/26 FAWNL Southern Premier Division season.

Smith was an unused substitute in the first four matches of the campaign before making her first appearance for the club in our 2-0 victory against Norwich City in the FAWNL Cup. The 23-year-old has now joined Stevenage Women on loan, who play in the Eastern Region Women’s Football League Premier Division, which is the fifth tier. She has made two appearances so far, as they sit top of the table after five games.

Meale joined the Pirates at the same time as Smith, starting the first four matches of the season. She impressed for Charlie Bill’s side and earned her first Player of the Match award during the 2-0 away defeat against Lewes FC. The young shot-stopper has joined Haringey Borough on loan, who play in the same league as Stevenage. She has made four appearances so far, keeping a clean sheet in their recent Women’s FA Cup second round qualifying match against Thetford Town.

We wish both players every success, both on and off the pitch, during their loan spells in the 2025/26 season.
