Rhianne Rush Signs For Real Bedford

Real Bedford can confirm the signing of Thailand International Rhianne Rush. The 22 year-old midfielder made her debut for the Thailand national team in June and has a wealth of experience in the third tier for the likes of MK Dons and Rugby Borough.

Rush spent her early years at Great Horwood FC and Milton Keynes City FC before joining MK Dons’ academy in 2017. She broke into the first team in the 2019/20 season, scoring once and assisting one in 13 appearances.

The 22-year-old became a regular in the MK Dons team for the next four seasons, as they established themselves in the FAWNL Southern Premier Division.

The 2022/23 campaign saw Rush make 20 appearances and be awarded the Community Ambassador Award.

A year later, she impressed again, winning the Dons’ Players Player of the Season and Goal of the Season, helping the club achieve a sixth-place finish in the third tier.

In the summer of 2024, Rush joined fellow new signing, Lucy Wood, at Rugby Borough. She made 13 appearances for Rugby in the Northern Premier Division, as they finished fifth behind Nottingham Forest, Wolverhampton Wanderers, Stoke City and Burnley.

On 29th June, Rush made her international debut for Thailand in a 7-0 win against Iraq in the AFC Women’s Asian Cup qualifiers. She also started the next group stage game against Mongolia, winning 11-0.

Rush has already featured for the Pirates during pre-season and has impressed with her close control and presence in the middle of the pitch.

On joining, Rush said:

“I’m grateful for the opportunity to join such an ambitious club and excited about the direction the staff and group are heading. Looking forward to what’s ahead!”

Bill said:

“Rhianne is a fantastic addition to the squad, a player I’ve worked with for many years who consistently shows the highest standards. She brings great energy off the ball and is always willing to dominate in possession.

As a group of staff, she’s someone we can’t wait to start working with again, and we believe she’s set for a big season, both for us as a club and in her international career.”

She will be a part of Charlie Bill’s squad for the start of the 2025/26 FAWNL Southern Premier Division campaign, which begins on Sunday 17th August at AFC Wimbledon.

Welcome to the Pirates, Rhianne.
