Real Bedford Women Player of the Month Nominees - August 2025

Charlie Bill’s side played four games in August, including three FAWNL Southern Premier Division matches and an FAWNL Cup clash against Cambridge United. Four players have been nominated for the Player of the Month.

Gemma Biggadike

Captain Gemma Biggadike featured in all four matches in August, playing a crucial role in the opening day victory against AFC Wimbledon, alongside Amber Gaylor and new signing, Rhianne Rush.

Her set-pieces have caused opposition teams all sorts of problems, with her corner against Cambridge United leading to a 96th minute winner from Chloe Logie.

Jess Evans

Jess Evans has continued her central defensive partnership with Sofia Stovold, featuring in three of the four games in August.

Her performance at AFC Wimbledon was particularly impressive, helping the Pirates gain a crucial three points after coming under significant pressure in the second half.

Sophie Byrom

Sophie Byrom made her first start for Real Bedford as a winger in the cup match against Cambridge United.

Since then, she has filled in as a full-back due to the long-term injuries to Hannah Warren and Nicola Puddick, impressing with her tireless energy.

She picked up her first Player of the Match award against Cheltenham Town.

Issy Bryant

Issy Bryant scored the first goal of the 2025/26 season for the Pirates, firing a powerful effort past the AFC Wimbledon goalkeeper after 30 minutes.

The 21-year-old started all three league matches in August, making an instant impact with her speed and close control out wide.
