An exciting opportunity to work as a Strength and Conditioning Coach for Real Bedford Women has come up.
This is a paid, part-time role. The successful candidate will be an important part of Charlie Bill’s backroom staff, as the Pirates prepare for life in the third tier of the English pyramid.
You’ll be joining a hard-working and supportive team, who want to grow the women’s game in a town full of potential on and off the pitch.
The ideal candidate will be passionate about women’s sports and committed to enhancing the physical performance and overall fitness of our players.
Job Title: Strength and Conditioning Coach
Job Type: Part-Time
Location: Ledger Stadium, McMullen Park, Meadow Lane, Bedford, MK44 3LW.
Reporting to: Manager (Charlie Bill)
Salary: Based on availability
Key Responsibilities
Develop and Implement Training Programs: Design and oversee strength and conditioning programs tailored to the needs of the team and individual players to maximise player availability.
Conduct In-Session Strength and Conditioning Plans: Lead a section of training sessions, focusing on strength, endurance, agility, and injury prevention.
Monitor Player Progress: Track and assess the physical progress of players, adjusting programs as necessary to ensure optimal performance. Managing the STATSport GPS System.
Injury Prevention and Management: Work closely with medical staff to reduce injuries and manage rehabilitation programs for injured players.
Game Day Support: Lead warm-ups, cool-downs, and any other physical preparation required on match days, as well as having a role within the Medical EAP.
Essential Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Sports Science or Strength and Conditioning
Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role, preferably with a focus on football.
Full drivers licence with no penalties or charges.
Desirable
Postgraduate qualification in Sport Science or Strength and Conditioning
Relevant certifications such as CSCS (Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist) or equivalent.
Schedule
Pre-season:
Tuesday: 18:00-19:00 (gym); 19:15-21:00 (training)
Thursday: 20:00-22:00 (training)
Saturday: 10:00-12:00 (training)
Matchdays: Sundays (one midweek game)
In-season:
Tuesday: 19:00-20:00 (gym); 20:15-22:00 (training)
Thursday: 20:00-22:00 (training)
Friday: 19:00-21:00 (training)
Matches: Sundays with occasional midweek games.
