Real Bedford Pre-Season Fixtures

We can now announce our pre-season schedule ahead of the 2025/26 season. The Pirates will play six games across 21 days in preparation for the Southern League Premier Central, which begins in August.

Saturday 12th July - Corby Town (H) - The Ledger Stadium - 15:00 KO

First up for Rob Sinclair’s side is a home game against Corby Town. The Steelmen finished second in the Northern Premier League Division One Midlands last season, ending on 85 points. They were denied promotion to step three, losing 2-1 to Worcester City in the play-off final.

Tuesday 15th July - AFC Welwyn (A) - The County Ground - 19:45 KO

AFC Welwyn have enjoyed back-to-back promotions since they were founded in 2023. Last season saw the Romans lift the Spartan South Midlands League Division One title, meaning they will play in step five during the 2025/26 campaign.

Saturday 19th July - Hitchin Town (A) - Top Field - 15:00 KO

Hitchin Town were relegated from step three last season, finishing on 34 points after 42 games. Michael Jones, who was appointed as first-team manager in November 2024, will be looking to secure an instant return to the Southern League Premier Central.

Saturday 26th July - Hampton & Richmond Borough (H) - The Ledger Stadium - 15:00 KO

Hampton & Richmond Borough are the highest-ranked team we will play during this year’s pre-season. They finished 18th in the National League South last season, which was six clear of St Albans, who occupied the last relegation spot. The Beavers have already made some exciting signings ahead of the 2025/26 campaign and will provide a stern test.

Tuesday 29th July - Hertford Town (A) - Hertingfordbury Park - 19:45 KO

We played Hertford Town twice in the league last season, winning on both occasions. The first head-to-head saw Sinclair’s side beat the Blues 2-0 on the opening day of the campaign, thanks to a Ben Stevens brace. Two months later, the Pirates won 3-0 at Hertingfordbury Park, thanks to goals from Jack Morrell, Joey Evans and Harrison Knight.

Saturday 2nd August - St Albans (H) - The Ledger Stadium - 15:00 KO

The last pre-season game will see us host St Albans. After spending 11 years at step two, the Saints were relegated from the National League South last season. A 5-2 defeat on the final day to title-winners Truro City sealed their fate.
