Real Bedford Fall To Quorn In Narrow 1-0 Defeat
By Louie Truman
The Pirates struggled to convert their chances in a match that finished 10 v 10. Quorn scored the only goal to take all three points.
King made an early save after Quorn countered from the Real Bedford’s corner, quickly rushing out to deny Cobourne in the box. During the early stages of the match, both sides applied pressure.
Quorn had an opportunity in the 14th minute; Rhys Kelly got forward from the halfway line before finding Cobourne on the edge of the box, but his effort went wide. King was called into action again, making a couple more solid saves, and Quorn missed a key chance after a free kick on the edge of the Pirates box.
Quorn had their number 7 sent off in the 29th minute after a shocking challenge on Lee Watkins. Real Bedford then applied the pressure and looked to take advantage of the ten men. However, the hosts took the lead just before half-time.
Sam Warburton was the goal scorer; he managed to get his head on the end of a free kick. After two minutes of stoppage time, Real Bedford went into the break 1-0 down.
Second Half
Rob Sinclair made his first changes at the break with Tom Hitchcock and Josh Setchell coming on to replace Lee Watkins and Lewis Hilliard.
In search for the equaliser, Real Bedford created multiple chances. Josh Allen got into the box, but the Quorn keeper got there, and Stevens had a couple of shots which went over.
Conor Tee was sent off for a second yellow in the 77th minute, and despite Real Bedford creating chances, the Pirates fell to a 1–0 defeat.
