Peterborough Sports v Real Bedford

Match Preview · 10 August 2026

The Pirates are on the road for their first away trip of the 2026/27 Southern League Premier Central season as they travel to PIMS Park to face Peterborough Sports on Tuesday evening.

Rob Sinclair’s side made the perfect start to the new campaign on Saturday, coming from behind twice before securing a thrilling 4-2 victory over Leamington at the Ledger Stadium. Goals from Conor Tee, Ben Stevens and a Jordan Ponticelli brace, ensured all three points, and the Pirates will be aiming to build on that momentum under the lights in Peterborough.

Here’s everything you need to know ahead of the match.

THE OPPOSITION

The Turbines return to Step 3 following four seasons in the National League North and will be hoping to mount an immediate promotion challenge under new manager Graham Drury. Drury arrived at PIMS Park this summer after a decade in charge of AFC Stamford.

There will also be a familiar face in the home dugout. Former Real Bedford assistant manager Mark Ducket joined Peterborough Sports this summer to become Drury’s assistant, ending a successful four-year spell with the Pirates.

The hosts have also strengthened their squad with the return of former Pirate Lewis Hilliard. Hilliard previously enjoyed five successful years at Peterborough Sports and returns to PIMS Park with a wealth of experience in the middle of the park.
