The Pirates run riot in 6-1 win over Stratford town
The Pirates put six past Stratford to make it four wins from four and continue their perfect start to the season. Rob Sinclair’s side have hit the ground running in impressive fashion.
Stratford had the first real opportunity of the match forcing King to tip it over the bar, and they were unlucky not to take the lead with another chance just moments later. In the 10th minute, Conor Tee found the back of the net to put Real Bedford ahead. Tee won the foul before stepping up and curling a brilliant free kick around the Stratford wall.
Following the goal, Real Bedford were unlucky not to double their lead. Allen had two efforts on goal which were cleared off the line. Minutes later, he was unlucky not to receive a penalty after being taken down in the box.
In the 37th minute, Conor Tee hit the crossbar from a free-kick, and Ponticelli had a shot which was blocked. Sam Cartwright lost his marker and found the back of the net with a brilliant header from Stevens’ pinpoint corner to double the lead. After two minutes of stoppage time, Real Bedford went into half-time 2-0 up.
Second half
At the start of the second half, the Pirates were awarded a penalty. After CJ Kiala had won the penalty, Allen calmly found the back of the net with a composed finish down the middle, which made it 3-0.
Moments after the penalty, Jack Storer found the back of the net for the visitors after a brilliant ball from Bearne, calmly chipping King. Despite the goal from Stratford, Real Bedford had an instant response. Straight from the restart, the Pirates went up the other end as Tee latched onto Allen’s pass and calmly found the far corner.
In the 60th minute, Conor Tee scored yet again. A clever attacking move saw Allen leave the through ball for Stevens, who picked out Tee to fire home and complete his hat-trick.
Straight from the bench, Tom Hitchcock made an instant impact getting himself on the scoresheet. Ponticelli whipped a dangerous ball across the box, with Hitchcock on hand to head it over the line.
Following four minutes of stoppage time, the Pirates secured another three points with an excellent performance.
