OPPOSITION FOCUS

Stamford head into Saturday’s match sitting 22nd in the Southern League Premier Central, with one point from 11 games. After losing their opening ten league fixtures, the Daniels got off the mark on Tuesday evening with a 0-0 draw at home to Stratford Town.

That clean sheet offers the hosts something to build on after a difficult run. Their previous two league outings brought a 4-0 defeat at Needham Market and a narrow 3-2 loss at Banbury United. Stamford will now be looking to turn that first point into a first league victory.

The club traces its roots back to 1896 and takes its Daniels nickname from Daniel Lambert, a well-known figure in Stamford’s history. More recently, Stamford won the Northern Premier League Division One Midlands title in 2022/23, earning promotion back to Step 3.

Real Bedford have won all three previous competitive meetings between the clubs.

The first came in the FA Trophy on 4th October 2025, when the Pirates secured a 3-1 victory at the Ledger Stadium. The Pirates followed that with another 3-1 win away at Stamford on 8th November, before completing the league double with a 3-0 home victory on 21st March 2026.

GETTING TO THE Zeeco STADIUM

Address: Borderville Sports Centre, Ryhall Road, Stamford, Lincolnshire, PE9 1US.

By car

Supporters approaching on the A1 from the south should leave at the A606 exit, signposted Oakham. Cross over the A1, turn left towards the southbound slip road, then take the first right before rejoining the carriageway.

Continue for approximately half a mile, then turn left towards Great Casterton, ignoring the first turning for Little Casterton. In Great Casterton, turn right towards Ryhall and follow the road for around 2.5 miles. At the junction, turn right and immediately right again. Continue for approximately 1.5 miles; the stadium is on the right.

Stamford recommends this route to avoid the busy town centre. The stadium postcode is PE9 1US, although the club’s directions advise using PE9 4QN if your sat nav cannot locate it.

Parking

The club lists space for approximately 110 cars at the ground, with additional parking at Travis Perkins, around two minutes’ walk away.

By train

Stamford railway station is on the opposite side of town from Borderville, so allow time for the onward journey to the stadium. A taxi provides an option for completing the trip; check train times and return connections before travelling.
