Sophie McLean is a Pirate
Charlie Bill continues to strengthen his midfield with the signing of Sophie McLean, also joining from Watford.
McLean arrives with an impressive pedigree, having featured across the FA Women’s Championship and FA Women’s National League throughout her career. Beginning at Tottenham Hotspur, she played an important role during the club’s rise before going on to represent London Bees, Crystal Palace, Billericay Town and, most recently, Watford.
A technically gifted and hard-working midfielder, McLean joined Watford in 2023 and quickly established herself as a key figure in the heart of midfield. Her composure in possession, energy out of possession and ability to control the tempo of matches made her a consistent performer for the Golden Girls, while her experience has seen her become a valued presence both on and off the pitch.
With over 100 senior appearances across the women’s game, McLean brings invaluable experience to Real Bedford as the club continues to strengthen its squad ahead of the new campaign.
