The Pirates get their 2026/27 pre-season campaign under way with a trip to the 1878 Stadium to face Wycombe Wanderers, as both sides begin their preparations for the new season with what promises to be a competitive opening test.

HOW TO GET TO The 1878 Stadium
The 1878 Stadium is located on Wymers Wood Road, Burnham, SL1 8JG and is easily accessible by road. From Junction 7 of the M4, follow signs for Burnham before joining the A4 and Wymers Wood Road, while supporters travelling from the M40 should leave at Junction 2 and follow the A355 towards Burnham.
The ground offers approximately 100 free on-site parking spaces, available on a first-come, first-served basis, with supporters asked to park considerately if using nearby residential streets. Those travelling by rail can use Burnham station on the Elizabeth line, which is around a 30-minute walk from the stadium, while local bus services 5, 12, 53 and 702 also stop nearby. Covered seating and standing areas, together with the Blues Bar and café, are available for all supporters.
THE OPPOSITION
Wycombe Wanderers Women have enjoyed one of the most successful seasons in their history, securing the 2025/26 Southern Region Women’s Football League Premier Division title to earn promotion to Tier 4. The Chairgirls built their success on an exciting, attack-minded style of play, finishing the campaign with 14 league wins, three draws and just three defeats, while also reaching the Southern Region League Cup Final.
Striker Kayla Potter led the line superbly, finishing as the club’s leading scorer with an outstanding 34 league goals in 21 appearances. With promotion secured and momentum on their side, today’s opponents provide an excellent test as both teams continue their preparations for the new campaign.
