Join The Medical Team

Real Bedford is seeking a motivated and committed Sports Therapist, Sports Rehabilitator or Physiotherapist to join our first-team medical department for the upcoming season.

Competing in the Southern League Premier Central, Step 3 of Non-League football, this is an exciting opportunity to work within an ambitious semi-professional football club and gain valuable experience in a competitive football environment.

Role Commitment

  • Training: Tuesdays and Thursdays

  • Matches: Saturdays, plus occasional midweek fixtures (primarily Tuesdays)

The Role

Working closely with Lead Sports Therapist Lottie Burton, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality medical support to the first-team squad. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing pitch-side medical cover at training and matches

  • Conducting injury assessments and managing acute injuries

  • Assisting with player preparation for training and matchdays

  • Supporting rehabilitation programmes and return-to-play planning

  • Contributing to the ongoing health, welfare and performance of the squad

This is an excellent opportunity to develop your experience within an ambitious football club while working alongside an experienced medical team.

Essential Requirements

  • Degree in Sports Therapy, Sports Rehabilitation or Physiotherapy

  • Previous pitch-side experience in football or a comparable sport

  • Current Emergency Medical First Aid in Football (EMFAiF) qualification (or equivalent), or willingness to obtain this qualification

  • Excellent communication and organisational skills

  • Professional, reliable and able to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team

Salary

This is a paid position, with remuneration dependent on qualifications and experience.
