OPPOSITION FOCUS

The hosts enjoyed a strong 2025/26 league campaign, finishing second with 52 points from 22 matches, just one point behind champions Watford. Plymouth won 16 league games and conceded only 11 goals across the season.

This summer brought a change in direction. Argyle announced a revised approach centred on developing local players and staff, creating opportunities through their player pathway and building a sustainable structure for the women’s team. The club also outlined plans for Foulston Park to become a permanent training base, while continuing to stage home fixtures at Home Park where possible.

Plymouth have endured a difficult start to the current league campaign and sit 12th with no points from five matches, having scored twice and conceded 24 goals. Their most recent league outing ended in a 5-0 defeat at Oxford United.

Plymouth won both league meetings between the sides last season.

Real Bedford suffered a 3-0 away defeat in December before Argyle won the return fixture 4-1 at the Ledger Stadium in April. Sunday offers the Pirates an opportunity to record a first victory over Plymouth and improve that record.
