HOW TO GET TO SIR HALLEY STEWART FIELD
The Sir Halley Stewart Field, home to Spalding United FC, is situated close to the town centre in Spalding, right opposite the Spalding Bus Station (off Winfrey Avenue) and within easy access of the local Railway Station (off King's Road). The Stadium is also right next door to a Retail Park containing B&Q and ICELAND Stores.
If you are travelling by Train, exit the Station and head straight over the road to the Sainsbury's Store, keeping the Store on your right-hand side. Continue to walk forward, and you will pass Wilkinsons and Argos. Across the road from Argos, you will spot the B&Q Store; the Football Stadium is on the left-hand side of B&Q.
Access to the ground is via the main entrance & turnstiles on Winfrey Avenue.
Parking is available within easy walking distance of the stadium, with some Pay & Display facilities located directly opposite the ground; there is also some limited free parking within a few minutes walk of the ground, but please note that this free parking is limited to three hours during peak times.
THE OPPOSITION
Spalding United have had an excellent start to the current campaign and currently sit top of the league with 47 points. In their last three fixtures, United managed to beat Redditch United 7-0 and Leiston 4-1, which shows Jimmy Dean’s side hasn’t had any problems finding the back of the net in recent outings. They come into this fixture on the back of a 2-2 draw against Worcester City, which would have been disappointing after leading 2-1 and conceding the equaliser in the 96th minute.
Spalding will look to secure all three points as they’ll aim to extend their lead at the top of the table. Jack Roberts is the club’s top goal scorer with 17 goals this season. He scored in the reverse fixture at the Ledger Stadium and will remain a huge threat.
