Our first season at step three of the non-league pyramid is only two weeks away. Rob Sinclair’s side will play their fourth game of pre-season on Saturday against Hampton & Richmond Borough, who finished 18th in the National League South last season.

The Pirates have won three out of three matches in pre-season so far, beating Corby Town, AFC Welwyn and Hitchin Town.

Here is everything you need to know ahead of Saturday’s game.

Tickets will be free if booked in advance, or if proof of purchase for the last home game against Corby Town is shown. If not, supporters will be charged the standard prices for pre-season games.

*Included in the ‘Groundhopper special’ is a match ticket, programme, a cold or hot drink at the bar and a metal pin badge.

The Opposition

Hampton & Richmond Borough are the highest-ranked team we will play during this year’s pre-season. They finished 18th in the National League South last season, which was six clear of St Albans, who occupied the last relegation spot.

The Beavers are unbeaten so far in pre-season, drawing their last two games 1-1 and 0-0 against Carshalton Athletic and Chertsey Town, respectively. Alan Julian, who has been the manager since May 2024, has made some astute signings this summer, meaning this will be a tough test for the Pirates.

Merchandise Store

Once you get through the turnstiles at the Ledger Stadium, you’ll see the clubhouse on the right. Inside the clubhouse, you’ll find the club shop where you can buy replica shirts, Real Bedford branded jumpers, t-shirts, accessories and much more.

Food and Drink

Inside the clubhouse, there is hot and cold food available, including burgers and sausage rolls. We will also have a BBQ, where you can buy burgers and hotdogs. We also serve a range of beers thanks to our partnership with Brewpoint. This includes Genesis Stout, Supernova Helles Lager, Foghorn Hazy Session IPA and Lodestar Pacific Pale Ale.

The best place to try out our range of beers is at our Official Brewpoint Hut, located adjacent to the tunnel and opposite the pitch. You can also purchase draft beer inside the clubhouse, especially the Supernova Helles Lager, which is popular on matchdays.

Accessibility Information

There are two bays of disabled parking outside the Ledger Stadium. Inside the ground, there is also a designated area for disabled supporters at the front of the main stand.
