Match Preview: Luton Town Ladies v Real Bedford Women - County Cup

A trip to Barton as we look to continue our County Cup form from last season. The Pirates managed to beat Luton Town in the final of the Bedfordshire Women’s Senior Cup 5-0. This season, Real Bedford received a bye in the first round.  

Here is everything you need to know ahead of the semi-final clash against Luton:

Date: Sunday 15th February 

Venue: Winton Haulage Stadium (Sharpenhoe Road), Barton-le-Clay, Bedfordshire (MK45 4SD)

Kick-off: 2pm  

HOW TO GET TO THE WINTON HAULAGE STADIUM

The stadium is located around a 15-minute drive north of Luton - and Kenilworth Road - via the A6. If you’re travelling by public transport, the MK1 bus from Luton Station Interchange stops close to the ground; you’ll need to get off at the Memorial stop.

The venue holds approximately 4,000 spectators, including 160 seated places and a covered stand along the length of the pitch that can accommodate about 1,120 people. The pitch is natural grass, and the stadium is equipped with floodlights.

THE OPPOSITION

Luton Town Women won the Eastern Region League Cup in 2022–23, beating Stevenage 2–1 in the final. In 2023–24, they reached the fourth round proper of the Women’s FA Cup for the first time, where they were knocked out by Brighton & Hove Albion.

The following season (2024–25), the club secured promotion from the Eastern Region Women’s Football League, completing a league-and-cup double to move into the FA Women’s National League Division One South East for 2025–26..
