The Opposition

Cardiff City Ladies were rebranded at the start of the 2024/25 season, becoming Gwalia United. They finished ninth in the FAWNL Southern Premier Division last year – five points above the relegation zone.

We also faced Gwalia in the first round of the FAWNL Cup during the 2024/25 campaign, beating them 2-1 thanks to goals from Nicola Puddick and Sofia Stovold.

Despite three wins from their first five league matches this season, manager James Thomas left his role on 1st October. Charlie Mitchell will take caretaker charge of the team while the club look for a new permanent manager.
