Match Preview: Derby County Women vs Real Bedford Women

Real Bedford Women are back in action against Derby County Women, with the FAWNL Southern Premier Division campaign only two weeks away. So far in pre-season, Charlie Bill’s side have won away matches against AFC Sudbury and Cambridge United before a home defeat against Fulham last weekend. 

The match against Derby County will be played at the Don Amott Arena and will kick-off at 2:00pm.

Entry is free for both home and away supporters on Sunday. 

How to Get to the Don Amott Arena

After taking the M1 northbound, exit at Junction 25. From here, take the A52 towards Nottingham/Derby before following your SatNav to Mickleover and Station Road. 

There is limited on-site parking, which is typically £3. If you arrive late and there is no on-site parking left, you’ll be able to find a spot on Station Road’s residential streets, which are only a short walk to the stadium. 

The Opposition

This is the first tier three side we will play during pre-season. Derby finished ninth in the Northern Premier Division last season, finishing on 21 points after 22 games. This included six wins, three draws and 13 defeats. 

Their top goalscorer in the league was Chene Muir, who scored seven goals in 15 matches, meaning she was awarded the club’s Young Player of the Season.
