HOW TO GET TO THE SPENCER STADIUM

Please note the following directions to the stadium, which have recently changed. Banbury provided the following advice:

“Following extensive road works and alterations, please ignore any existing directions to Banbury United FC. Please note that although Banbury United’s ground has not moved and is actually still addressed as Station Approach, Banbury, you are no longer able to access the ground from the older route of Station Approach” These are the new directions from the M40 motorway, junction 11. From M40, junction 11 (eleven), head towards Banbury. At the first roundabout, take the second exit, and keep to the left-hand lane. At the next roundabout, take the first exit into Concorde Avenue. At the next roundabout, take the first exit and move into the right-hand lane. At the traffic lights, go straight ahead and through the next set of traffic lights.

When approaching the next set of traffic lights, take the left-hand filter lane into Swan Close Road. Take the first turn left into the Tramway and go straight ahead until reaching the new roundabout. Turn right (second exit) at this roundabout and follow the road to Banbury United FC, going past Frostechnic Ltd, and into Banbury United Car Park.”

THE OPPOSITION

The Puritans suffered relegation from the National League North in the 2023/24 season after two campaigns at step two. Last year saw Banbury finish 12th in the Southern League Premier Central, which was 14 points behind the final play-off spot occupied by Harborough Town.

Kevin Langmead was appointed as the club’s manager in June 2025 and has secured 12 points from the first eight games. The Puritans are unbeaten at home, winning two and drawing two, including their emphatic 4-1 victory against promotion-hopefuls Spalding United on Saturday.

Langmead’s side have scored 17 goals in all competitions so far this season, with Reece Styche scoring seven of those, including a 95th minute strike against Spalding on Saturday.
