Issy Bryant Signs For Real Bedford Women
Real Bedford can confirm the signing of winger Issy Bryant. The 21-year-old has already featured twice for Charlie Bill’s side in pre-season as a trialist, scoring five in a behind closed doors friendly against Camden Town Women.
Bryant can either play out wide on the left or right, and has already had an impressive career to date. She became the first Cambridge City player to represent England in 2019, when she was called up for the Under-15’s squad.
In 2020, she joined Ipswich Town, making four senior appearances. One of her most memorable moments came when she scored a penalty against Southampton to help Ipswich qualify for the last eight of the FA Cup for the first time in the club’s history.
After two years in East Anglia, Bryant signed a four-year scholarship with the University of North Carolina Wilmington (UNCW). She went on to score four goals in 25 appearances before returning to the UK.
In January 2024, Bryant returned to Ipswich, signing an 18-month deal with the club. Midway through the 2024/25 campaign, she moved on loan to Oxford United Women, featuring nine times for the U’s.
Upon the expiry of her contract with Ipswich in the summer of 2025, Bryant announced that she was leaving the club.
On joining, Bryant said:
“I’m thrilled to join real Bedford for the season, and continue to compete in tier 3. I hope to bring in my experience and player qualities on and off the pitch to push us in this league.
I look forward to use this opportunity to test ourselves, as well as showcase myself in this league. The team have been so welcoming and there’s a real togetherness in the squad.”
The exciting forward has already featured in both pre-season games for the Pirates and will be part of the squad for the 2025/26 FAWNL Southern Premier Division campaign, which begins on Sunday, 17th August, at AFC Wimbledon.
