Elliot Simmons is a Pirate
Real Bedford can confirm the signing of talented midfielder Elliot Simmons. The 27-year-old is another signing from our neighbours Bedford Town, where he played a key role in the Eagles’ 2024/25 Southern League Premier Central title-winning campaign.
After being born in Luton, Simmons moved to Canada at the age of five, featuring for Gouldbourn SC and the Ottawa Fury Academy. He returned to England in 2010, signing for Milton Keynes Dons’ academy.
The midfielder went on to sign his first professional contract in 2017, putting pen to paper with Swedish top-flight side Dalkurd FF. After various stints in Finland, Sweden and Canada for the likes of Mikkelin Palloilijat, HFX Wanderers, Cavalry FC and Vancouver FC, Simmons returned to England in the summer of 2024, signing for National League Side Wealdstone.
In August 2024, the 27-year-old went on loan to Bedford Town, making 19 appearances for Lee Bircham’s side as the Eagles pipped Kettering Town to the Southern League Premier Central title. Simmons’ move to Bedford Town became permanent at the end of 2024, before signing a one-year contract with the club at the start of the 2025/26 campaign.

On joining, Simmons said:
“I’m buzzing to be part of this project and really believe in how far this club can go. That ambition was a big motivation for me to come here. I’ve always enjoyed playing in teams that keep the ball and play with purpose, so it feels like the perfect fit.”
Rob Sinclair said:
“Elliot is a great person with the right attitude, and that’s always the foundation we look for. He’s also a very technical midfielder who will add real composure and quality to our play. I’m confident he’ll be a big asset for us on and off the pitch.”
Elliot will be a part of the squad that travels to Worcester City on Saturday 20th September.
Welcome to the Pirates, Elliot.
