OPPOSITION FOCUS

Anstey Nomads sit ninth with 23 points from 13 league matches, having recorded six wins, five draws and just two defeats. With two games in hand on Real Bedford, the hosts have an opportunity to close the gap on the sides above them.

The Nomads head into Tuesday’s fixture following a convincing 4-1 home victory over Bishop’s Stortford on Saturday. That followed a 2-2 draw at Alvechurch, giving Anstey four points from their last two outings.

Anstey are unbeaten in six league matches at The Marks Electrical Arena this season, winning four and drawing two, scoring 15 goals and conceding six.

The club’s recent rise has brought two league titles in four seasons. Anstey won the United Counties League Premier Division North and League Cup double in 2022/23, earning promotion to the Northern Premier League.

They took another step forward last season, winning the Northern Premier League Division One Midlands title under former Leicester City goalkeeper Conrad Logan. A final-day 1-0 victory over Wellingborough Town secured the championship and promotion to Step Three.

Tuesday marks the first meeting between Real Bedford and Anstey Nomads, opening a new chapter for two clubs that have climbed through the non-league pyramid in recent seasons.
