Match Preview: Alvechurch v Real Bedford

The Pirates travel to Lye Meadow, facing Alvechurch once again. This time, in the Southern League Premier Central. Rob Sinclair’s side will be looking to regain momentum after their 1-0 loss against Leiston. The Pirates are currently just inside the play-off places in 5th.

HOW TO GET TO LYE MEADOW

From the M42, take M42 to J2, then exit onto A441 towards Redditch. At the roundabout at the end of the dual carriageway, take 2nd exit, B4120 signposted Alvechurch. After approximately 1 mile, the ground is on the right with the car park entrance just before the ground.

THE OPPOSITION

Alvechurch currently sit in 17th, just two places above the relegation zone. In the league, they have managed seven wins, two draws and 10 losses. Alvechurch lost four of their last five, but they did manage an impressive 2-0 home win against Worcester.

The Pirates have travelled to Lye Meadow already this season in the FA Trophy, Alvechurch came out on top. The game finished 1-1, but the Church managed to advance through to the next round on penalties. Theywill be looking to build momentum after their 5-3 away win against Boldmere St Michaels in the Birmingham Senior Cup, last Tuesday.
